I was at Revival, a restaurant in St. Louis, and was surprised to find chocolate covered bacon on the dessert menu. Has anyone tried it? I love the sweet/salty combo, but I'm not sure about the hickory smoke flavor.

Clearly, bacon as a desert is a natural, delicious contribution to the greater dietary good.

I've made chocolate covered bacon, but have never seen it in a restaurant. If it's got bacon in it, it has to be good!

There is a fine line where the flavors can become overwhelming. Both bacon and chocolte have very powerful flavors. My favorive combo is a basic, non-flavored bacon layered into brownies. Both have a calmer flavor and work well together. I feel like evry time I tried just dipping in chocolate, the flavors fought each other.

I love Artisan Dry Cured Bacon dipped in white chocolate... it is FANTASTIC! You can get the Artisan bacon at CostCo of all places and a brick of white baking or melting chocolate... a-maz-ing! Also... Vogel's has a milk chocolate bacon bar that is also delicious! You can pick them up at the Detroit Airport (where I first fell in love with them) and also they are now available at Whole Foods and Sunflower Markets.
